BOZEMAN, Mont. (Ammoland.Com) – Leading advocate for the self-guided hunter, Randy Newberg, Hunter, continues delivering a fresh take on self-guided public land hunts with his series, Leupold’s Fresh Tracks with Randy Newberg returning to Sportsman Channel on Wednesday, July 1 at 9:30 p.m. MT.
Leupold’s Fresh Tracks with Randy Newberg takes viewers on self-guided public land hunts in the western states and tells that story in a deeper, “behind the scenes,” format.
The new season premiere begins with Newberg not holding the tag this time – but a friend, Randy Hodges, drew a mountain goat tag in Montana after waiting 10 years. Hodges asked Newberg if he wanted to join the hunt, which of course was affirmative! But Newberg knew this wouldn’t be an easy hunt by any means.
“The thing about goat hunts is you can go where its really easy and not be surrounded by goats and have to work for it – or you can go into a place that’s a grind to get into, but you should have a goat playground around you. The hardest part is just getting here,” said Newberg.
Also this season, Newberg takes good friend Bernie Kuntz, a Vietnam Marine Corp veteran on a mobility-impaired pronghorn hunt and has more of his colleagues join him on hunts than ever before. “This season is not as much as me hunting as it is for me to help others to enjoy what our public lands have to offer us,” said Newberg. “It is more than most people think and I am here to show them exactly how to do it. If you follow my guidance, you will be successful on any type of public land hunt.”
