Poor weather prevents Newberg and Baichtal from beginning their hunt on time, but the rain eventually lets up and the men are ready to take to the mountains for a thrilling Sitka Blacktail hunt. After navigating the rugged Alaska mountains, Baichtal glasses a great buck in the distance. While he works to close the distance and sets up to take aim, Newberg heads to higher mountains to film the action-packed hunt. Baichtal uses his insider knowledge and experience to cut the distance for the shot he is looking for. Using an old Hawken Rifle, Baichtal requires a perfect setup and Newberg is unsure if Baichtal will take the shot provided.
“Hunting with somebody like Jim is a huge part of the experience. It’s why I love to hunt with people like him – I learn so much,” commented Newberg. “I watch him and his actions and really see his knowledge shine through. From glassing to taking aim, there was a purpose to everything he did.”
