House Homeland Security and Public Safety Committee Chairman Larry Phillips (R-Sherman) Passes Campus Protection Act.

Houston, Tx –-(Ammoland.com)- HB 937 by Rep. Allen Fletcher (R-Tomball) passed in House Committee on Homeland Security and Public Safety on March 31 2015.

HB 937 is the 2015 Campus Protection Act and is the companion to SB 11 by Sen. Brian Birdwell (R-Granbury) which moved out of the Senate earlier.

HB 937 now moves to House Calendars to be set for the House floor.

House CRT Committee Passes Constitutional Amendment

HJR 61 by Rep. Trent Ashby (R-Lufkin) passed the House committee on Culture, Recreation, and Travel on March 31st and it too moves to House Calendar’s Committee to be set for the House floor. HJR 61 creates a constitutional amendment, the right to hunt and fish by conventional methods according to Texas laws.

Senate Chamber Passes Constitutional Amendment

On April 1st, SJR22 by Sen. Brandon Creighton (R-Conroe) passed in the Texas Senate by the two-thirds required to pass a constitutional amendment. SJR22 is the companion to HJR 61, the right to hunt and fish by traditional methods.

When this legislation completes the legislative process, it will be included and must pass on the November 2015 general election ballot to become part of the Texas Constitution. Stay tuned!
