New York Knicks point guard Raymond Felton, 29, was arrested on felony gun charges Tuesday after he turned himself in at the 20th Precinct station house.
A divorce lawyer for Felton’s estranged wife, Ariane Raymondo-Felton, turned in a loaded FNH 5.7 x 28mm pistol to the 20th Precinct station house, claiming it belonged to Felton. Raymondo-Felton told police her husband kept the firearm in their Manhattan apartment and had earlier threatened her with it. Without incident, Felton turned himself in around 12:50 a.m., New York Times reports.
Felton was being held on charges of criminal possession of a weapon in the second, third and fourth degrees, according to New York Police Sgt. John Buthron. The claims that the weapon belong to Felton and that he threatened his wife with it have yet to be substantiated. He has a court date scheduled for Tuesday.
