Kimber is best known for its 1911-style pistols and showed up in Las Vegas to up the ante with several new models on both ends of the handgun spectrum.
New for 2017 is the Camp Guard 10, a striking two-tone 10mm Auto offered in conjunction with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation for those who venture into the backcountry. The cosmetics of RMEF-marked carved rosewood grips and a round heel frame are balanced by the more hard-serving matte black slide and Tactical Wedge 3-dot tritium night sights. MSRP is $1,228. Kimber’s new and very compact Ultra CDP (Custom Defense Package) is available in .45ACP ($1,173) or 9mm ($1,194) and features a flush-cut barrel, extensive carry melting, aluminum frame and rosewood grips. Weight is just 25 ounces.
A product of Kimber’s Custom Shop is the Custom Covert, a 31-ounce charcoal finished aluminum framed carry gun that incorporates a Crimson Trace Laser in its distinctive urban camouflage grips. MSRP is $1,427.
Kimber also added several distinct variants to their K6S snub-nosed revolver line for 2017.
The new K6S Stainless is $878 and offers a low-glare brushed stainless frame finish, black rubber grips, and standard three-dot sights. The Stainless (NS) version is the same model but with 3-dot tritiums for $919.
The K6S Stainless (LG) variant includes black wood and rubber Crimson Trace Master Series Lasergrips and runs $1,177.
A limited run of K6S First Edition .357 snubs are priced at $2,039 and are set off by a high-grade mirror-polished stainless steel finish and Pao Ferro wood grips. A more toned down model, the DCR (Deluxe Carry Revolver), has a smooth satin finish and runs $1,088.
