In a recent interview with Ellen DeGeneres, reality TV star Kim Kardashian indicated after being robbed at gunpoint in Paris last October she has a new outlook on life.
“I know this sounds crazy, but I know that was meant to happen to me,” Kardashian said, repeatedly adding that she didn’t want to start crying again.
“I’m such a different person,” she continued, attempting to hold back tears. “I really feel like things happen in your life to teach you things. It was probably no secret — and you see it on the show — I was being flashy and I was definitely materialistic before.”
Kardashian, who was robbed of some $10 million in jewelry while attending Fashion Week, went on to explain that while there’s nothing wrong with being happy and proud of things that you’ve worked hard for, she now realizes that some things are just more important that all of that “stuff.”
“I just don’t care about that stuff anymore. I really don’t,” she said. “I don’t care to show off the way that I used to. Even though there’s nothing wrong, truly, it’s okay if you’re proud of that and you work so hard and you get something. It’s just not who I am anymore.”
Kardashian, who gave a chilling account of the crime, concluded the conversation by saying she’s happy her kids get “this” her instead of the old her.
