Kahr dropped the news Wednesday that three variants of their CW9 series of polymer framed pistols are approved for sale in sunny California.
The company has about 40 models and variants of semi-auto handguns currently on California’s DOJ-approved roster and the newly-added guns, all from the same platform family, share a number of traits to include 3.6-inch barrels and an overall length of 5.9-inches. The handguns, all DAO, use a Browning-style recoil lug and feature a 7-round detachable box mag– within California’s 10-round or less mandate. Likewise, they all MSRP around $480.
What separates the three variants, now available for California gun dealers to buy from authorized Kahr wholesalers, are the finishes.
The CW9093N is a classic looking two-tone gun with a stainless slide and black polymer frame. The “N” designation denotes the drift adjustable white bar-dot combat rear and a pinned polymer front night sight.
The black carbon fiber print CW9093BCF variant has almost a 3-D quality to it and features a textured grip.
The CW9093BB incorporates a Cerakote Burnt Bronze finish which the company advises is very popular in both the Kahr and Magnum Research product lines.
As a side note, on Thursday attorney Alan Gura, who won the landmark Heller and McDonald cases in front of the Supreme Court, will be arguing a Second Amendment appeal in front of the U.S. 9th Circuit in the case of Peña v. Supernor— taking on California’s Handgun Roster and “microstamping” laws directly.
