Raton, NM – -(Ammoland.com)- The Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rehabilitation and reintegration of wounded American veterans, was the beneficiary of the proceeds from a special long-range side match event at this year’s Rocky Mountain 3-Gun.
To put on the side match, lead sponsor JP Enterprises, which provided the rifles for the event, teamed with Hornady, which donated the ammunition, and American Trigger Sports Network, which contributed to the winner’s purse.
2012 marks the tenth year of the Rocky Mountain 3-Gun event—held each year at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico—and its sponsorship by JP Enterprises.
It also marks the tenth year for JP’s popular machined-from-billet CTR-02 rifle.
To commemorate both events, a special limited run of anniversary edition CTR-02s were produced with a portion of their sales also going to benefit the Wounded Warriors Project.
“The military and shooting sports have always had strong ties and strengthened each other in many ways over the years,” said JP founder, John Paul.
“With so many worthy veterans’ organizations out there, it can be difficult to pick, but there’s never a question that these heroes deserve our recognition and support. The WWP has done so much to that end, that the fit is definitely a good one.”
