On Sportsman Channel – Saturday
New Berlin, Wis. –-(Ammoland.com)- The temperatures are biting, but that did not deter or prevent “Riggo” from finding and plating several delicious Canadian geese on Maryland’s Eastern Shore.
Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American Sportsman, is bringing viewers on a waterfowl hunt for the ages on Riggo on the Range. After twenty-five years, Riggins reunites with an old hunting friend for an unforgettable hunt that yields several geese for the dinner table. Not only is “Riggo’s” culinary skills on display, but he also makes everything easy for the viewers to repeat at home! The action begins on Saturday, April 20 at 11:30a.m. ET/PT.
After an early rise, Riggins and friend/guide, Mike Harris set their well-positioned duck decoys and wait for the geese start moving closer. The teams’ patience pays off as they begin making their shotgun shells count as they drop a handful of birds from 40-50 yards. The following day, the men produce another fruitful harvest and meat for the grill. The next stop is getting the birds cleaned and it’s off to the kitchen and the grill for “Riggo’s” recipe of Tandoori Goose.
“It has been a long time since I have been waterfowl hunting and this turned out better than I expected,” said John Riggins, host of Riggo on the Range. “I like options so I made a traditional Tandoori marinade and the spicy version for the waterfowl. Viewers need to be very careful to not over cook the birds on the grill. I was more than pleased with the outcome and so was my palette.”
