Bethesda, MD – “The current mainstream media anti-gun blitz is failing to stampede the American public into support for more restrictive gun control laws,” gun rights expert John M. Snyder observed today.
Snyder noted, “A recent Rasmussen survey following the horrendous Connecticut elementary school multiple murders last Friday shows this. According to the national survey of 1,000 adults conducted on December 17 – 18, only 27 percent think stricter gun control laws will do the most to prevent such shootings, 48 percent believe more action to prevent mental health issues will do the most, 15 percent put the emphasis on violent movies and video games, and 10 percent are undecided.
“This poll comes during a barrage of hysteric anti-gun propaganda coming out of the tube and other media outlets. The message is that big media is not a big hit with the American public.”
“Of course,” Snyder continued, “gun-grabbing political tools like President Obama and others are trying to take advantage of this situation to push their agenda. That’s to be expected. They wallow in the blood of the innocent to try to get what they want.
“On the other hand, statesmen stand four-square with the individual Second Amendment civil right of law-abiding American citizens to keep and bear arms. On Tuesday, Rep. Robert W. Goodlatte (R-VA), selected to chair the House Judiciary Committee in January, told CQ Roll Call that ‘he does not favor tightening controls on firearms’ and ‘has shut down talk of gun control in the wake of the Newtown, Connecticut massacre.'”
