Indiana -(AmmoLand.com)- Some of you have seen the reports about some mayors in Indiana wanting to repeal the preemption law that was passed in 2011.
If your mayor is one of them you might want to contact and let them know your position on the matter and the Second Amendment. Make your play.
I wonder how many gun owners in Indiana are even aware of the legislation that was passed in 2011 that took away the ability for local government to suffocate the Second Amendment in Indiana.
This along with the recent effort on the federal level to redefine gunsmiths as manufacturers is indicative of the eternal pressure to ambush the right to keep and bear arms.
I think most folks on both sides of this issue realize the conflict will never go away. The question is how many on the two different sides will go away. Which fighting force will maintain enough troops to win the skirmishes?
Honestly I’d be afraid to place a bet on that. I just read my monthly VFW magazine and there was an article about the pioneer aviators this country had beginning in WW l. Men like William Piper, Eddie Rickenbacker, Charles Lindbergh, Chuck Yeager and Buzz Aldrin to name just a few who flew combat and were test pilots and ultimately became successful businessmen. These guys started out in their teens or early twenties to join the military, Piper quit high school, lied about his age and joined the Pennsylvania National Guard as a private, infantryman with parental consent according to the article.
These Americans understood the precious value of liberty and what it took to protect it. In America today where we have full grown adults who walk around like wind up dolls holding some play toy called Pokémon Go while the whole worlds watches on doesn’t strike me as the type who would take a stand to defend the Bill of Rights. I don’t see that branch of citizenry calling or writing a legislator to take steps to prevent a government entity from stealing away a guaranteed right. . I’m just sharing my views as a bystander. I could be wrong.
I am fully aware that in America we still have many individuals who are brave, informed, talented and are extraordinary, but I just don’t know the percentages.
The next Patriots meeting will be Saturday August 27th 2016. Hope you can join us. Margie is asking folks to bring a food item for a picnic style pot luck dinner. Thank you.
