Illinois State Rifle Association on National Rifle and Pistol Championships

Illinois –-(Ammoland.com)- Right now the Illinois State Rifle Association has a lot of teams competing in the National Rifle and Pistol Championships at Camp Perry, Ohio and Bristol, Indiana.

For many years the ISRA has been a leader in teaching marksmanship and training shooters.

Hundreds of people are involved in education, training, and competitions, which is evidenced by the number of those competing. Competition is fun.

The best way to get started is to join a shooting league; it does not have to be an ISRA league. Find a range near you and get started.

Last week we announced our Women on Target instructional pistol shooting clinic at our ISRA Range. The response was tremendous. We filled the class of forty in about thirty-six hours. We now have a waiting list and may need to schedule another class.

We still need pistol instructors; if you are available on July 26th, please call the ISRA office at 815.635.3198 or email lori@isra.org.

On Saturday, August 9, 2014, the ISRA is hosting their annual Youth Shooting Sports Camp at our Range. This very popular camp is for girls and boys ages 10-14. Activities include .22 pistol and rifle, shotgun, black powder, and archery. There are still a few openings left. Call the ISRA office or email ann@isra.org for details.

Shooting is a family sport and youth camp is a great way to get that started.
