New concealed carry holsters for the just launched Springfield Armory XD-E are already hitting the market, with Safariland and Bianchi lining up a variety of models for the new single stack pistol.
Safariland models for the XD-E include the GLS Pro-Fit series. This series — featuring models 576 to 579 — use the grip locking system’s retention to secure the gun in the holster.
The rigs feature an ergonomic lever on the top of the holster that is released as the user takes a firing grip on the gun. This allows for a natural, smooth draw.
Upon reholstering, the gun locks into place. The Pro-Fit series utilizes Safariland’s proprietary Safari-Seven material that is “virtually impervious to the elements.”
Bianchi unveiled holster models constructed with the company’s premium grade, full-grain leather construction and AccuMold 100-denier ballistic weave fabric. Traditional leather options include open-top and thumb snap belt models, a paddle model and the compact Foldaway holster.
The Foldaway offers a unique design in that it rides flat on the belt. The 4584 Evader with FingerLok retention available in a ballistic weave and two AccuMold contour-molded models, the 7001 Thumbstack and the 7500 paddle version, round out Bianchi’s models.
The Safariland and Bianchi holster options range in price from around $20 to $60.
