Hillary on Australia, and an Australian on gun control (VIDEO)

The National Shooting Sports Foundation, as part of their #GunVote series, pits Victoria, Australia Parliament Member Jeff Bourman’s take on Australian gun confiscation against Clinton’s past remarks.

Last October, the former Secretary of State when asked by an audience member, “Australia managed to get away or take away tens of thousands — millions — of handguns and in one year they were all gone. Can we do that and why, if we can’t, why can’t we?” gave a lengthy response that ended with, “certainly the Australian example is worth looking at.”

While she has walked that back in more recent weeks, Australia is now looking to have a nationwide amnesty to allow “grey market” unregistered guns to be turned in 20 years after the government bought nearly 700,000 guns from its citizens at a cost of $500 million. It seems shootings there are on the rise.
