Oregon –-(Ammoland.com)- Chris Mintz was shot seven times as he tried to stop the Oregon school shooter.

He was trying to save his classmates as at least nine were massacred by a deranged gunman at a community college in Oregon.

Army veteran Chris Mintz, 30, was taken to the hospital.

His cousin Derek Bourgeois told DailyMail.com that Mintz faced Chris Harper-Mercer, 26, who killed at least 10 people at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg.

Mintz was shot in the upper back, left hand, abdomen and each leg, his family told the Winston-Salem Journal, but he is in stable condition.

“During the shooting both of his legs were broken and he is going to have to go through a ton of physical therapy,” Bourgeois wrote on the Go fund me page established to help pay his medical bills.

“I just hope that everyone else is OK,” he told ABC News this morning.” “I’m just worried about everyone else,”

Chris Mintz is a true American Hero.
