USA -(Ammoland.com)- It is a true achievement to reach 100 episodes for any show.

Heartland Bowhunter ( www.heartlandbowhunter.com )  has reached that achievement, and the special episode will air tonight on The Outdoor Channel at 11 pm ET.

I had the privilege of being able to speak with Michael Hunsucker from the show. He is sharing with us the reaction to reaching 100 episodes, tips for fellow hunters, and other points about Heartland Bowhunter.

Congratulations on reaching the 100 episode mark! How do you and your crew feel about reaching this achievement?

(MH)We are blown away by all of the support that we have received over the years and cannot believe that we have already reached our 100 episode mark. It seems just like yesterday we were storyboarding and producing our first couple of episodes. We owe all of our success to not only a great fanbase that has more dedicated than we could have ever imagined but also a great team and family that surrounds HB. We have grown so close over the years and look forward to many more to come!

This latest season we have seen you guys hunt so many animals, what would you say was the easiest? The most difficult?

(MH) No matter what animal you’re bowhunting, it’s never easy, but there are certainly some hunts that we are more comfortable with than others. Growing up in the mid-west, whitetail hunting is our bread and butter. We eat, breathe and live it, 24-7, 365. That being said, we have hunted some of our properties since we were teenagers and have a good management system in place that insures we will have a healthy deer hear and will have mature bucks to pursue each year. On the other side of the coin, we have spent some more time out west over the past couple of years, really pushing ourselves to try to some different hunts that are a little bit out of our realm. Probably the most difficult hunt of Season 8 would be the premiere episode from the high country of Utah. This DIY, public ground hunt at high elevation with thin oxygen levels really pushed our team and challenged us both mentally and physically. My partner Shawn Luchtel, along side Nate Flynn, Joel Taylor, and Trent Siegle pushed through the challenges to come out successful with a deer that any of us would have been proud of, public land or not!

What are some tips that you can give for beginner – advanced bowhunters?

(MH) For those that are just getting started bowhunting, I would encourage them to really embrace the sport and take it very seriously. It is such an intimate sport that requires getting super close to animals in their environment where they have survived all of their life. For us, bowhunting has become a way of life. It is something that we wake up and think about almost every single day. From shed hunting in the winter, to food plots in the spring, to scouting in the summer, there really is no off season for us.

Which episode has been your favorite so far?

(MH) I may be a little biased, but my favorite episode of the season has been ‘Sacramento Screamers’, my first ever elk hunt. We had an incredible hunt and were absolutely covered up in bulls. I learned a lot on that hunt and through the experiences I had and after almost a week of hunting was finally able to arrow a great bull. It will air again the week of 10/26.

What can we be looking forward to in the upcoming episodes this season?

(MH) Still left to air in this season are some great episodes including one dedicated to Shawn’s Missouri season where he was surprised to find luck a little earlier than usual, an episode featuring an decoy exploding buck I call ‘Little Louie’, a November hunt with Nate in ND, and my WY season finale where I arrow one of the oldest bucks that I have ever harvested.

Be sure to tune in to the 100th episode airing tonight August 24th 2015 at 11 pm ET on The Outdoor Channel.
