4th Annual Event Features Todd Jarrett Exhibition
Moyock, NC -(AmmoLand.com)- Honored American Veterans Afield (HAVA) and ACADEMI announce another very successful family day event at the flagship 7,000 acre ACADEMI Training Center in Moyock, NC.
Nearly 400 veteran family members and volunteers participated in a day of shooting, food, gifts, prizes and making new friends as the HAVA/ACADEMI team honored Disabled Veterans and injured active military families that have given so much in defense of freedom. Each veteran received a gift bag of outdoor products, every child won a prize and the industry-sponsored raffle awarded over $15,000 in high-value outdoor products to lucky ticket holders.
The day started with World Champion professional shooter Todd Jarrett’s 3-gun exhibition, and featured veteran and spouse shooting on 8-stages of fire. Youth learned gun safety and how to shoot on airsoft ranges, and experienced urban warfare training in the facility’s mock town.
“One of HAVA’s best organized events is held each spring with over 100 ACADEMI employee volunteers helping to bring joy to the American heroes whom we serve,” said HAVA Chairman Tom Taylor. “The facility is world-class and the ACADEMI employees take exceptional pride in helping to stage one of the best veteran-service outdoor events in existence. We are making a difference in the lives of these veteran families, and many of them return each year for another great day of family fun and interaction.”
“It is our privilege to host such a marquee event as the HAVA/ACADEMI family day each year,” said Chris Sorenson, ACADEMI President and a retired U.S. Army Colonel and combat veteran. “Since most of our people are from the military community, we relish the chance to give back a small measure of what our guests deserve for their heroic service. These are people who answered the call when their country needed commitment to an important cause, and many of them have paid a great price for their dedication. We can’t do enough for these dedicated Americans, and we’ll keep doing it as long as they need us to serve.”
