USA – -(Ammoland.com)- “So Michelle Obama speaks out against women in the @GOP, but won’t stand up for the women assaulted by Weinstein?” Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel asked in a Tuesday tweet. She was sharing a link to a CNN report that uncharacteristically appeared to be pointing out major hypocrisy by both the Obamas and the Clintons, self-styled feminist political champions, for staying silent on a major fundraiser’s longstanding serial sexual abuse of women.
True, Hillary has since boarded the condemnation train with self-serving declarations intended to distance what had been a warm and long-term relationship of mutual interests. But she waited five days.
Everybody remembers the outrage over Donald Trump not responding to Charlottesville quickly enough to satisfy opportunistic “progressive” indignation?
And Clinton has also never been pressed by supportive media for a simple “Yes” or “No” to a basic related question:
“Is Juanita Broaddrick a liar?”
Plenty of celebrities are also signaling how offended they are now that there’s blood in the water and the man at whose feet they once knelt and (use your imagination) has been brought down by his perverse pathological hubris. It’s fair to ask what took them so long, too, and not just to react to recent breaking developments.
Where were they when Harvey made the news two years ago, when cops set up a phone sting and he didn’t deny groping 22-year-old Italian model Ambra Battilana? And what’s with the report about A-listers Matt Damon and Russell Crowe helping to spike an expose 10 years before that at The New York Times? (Damon is the “action hero” who called for confiscation of guns.)
But now, everybody’s shocked, shocked that such conduct goes on in Hollywood? And has since the early days? Nobody remembers Fatty Arbuckle? Or heard the term “casting couch”? Or remembers what Marilyn Monroe reputedly said (NSFW/vulgarity) after signing her first major contract? Or knows what goes on at those “social gatherings” the salacious media reports on? Or suspects (or has participated in) darker deeds?
Weinstein’s wife can’t claim to be surprised by her #wonderfulhusband either, despite the crocodile tears that “My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions.” At least she’s bailing before the bank breaks.
And Harvey?
He’s out. He may be facing criminal charges for rape. So predictably, he’s pulling a Weiner and going into “rehab” (and coincidentally escaping U.S. jurisdiction?)
So he won’t be making good on his threat to make an anti-NRA movie starring Meryl Streep (who also had no idea!). Here’s what Harvey told Howard Stern in January, 2014:
“They are going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them … I don’t think we need guns in this country, and I hate it.”
Curiously, he didn’t say if that hatred translated into disarming the bodyguards he hired because he was afraid of … uh … Scientologists. And that was “extra security” as “Weinstein had already been under close guard following a recent attempt to blackmail him.”
In fairness, it’s not like he was going to make the movie anyway. Every so often I’d check in on its progress, and it’s still where it’s been since Harvey first opened his mouth. The project has been listed as “in development,” with no other production data, on both IMDB and Movie Insider for over three years now.
If the rape charges stick, Harvey will be a “prohibited person,” forbidden by law to own a gun. Isn‘t it curious how many narcissists, exhibitionists and outright psychopaths, who can’t – or more likely won’t – control themselves, are so obsessed with controlling those of us who don’t share in their degeneracy and their moral defects?
Any gun owners seeing him implode wish they weren’t alive…?
