Gun Rights Won One And Lost 1 In Virginia’s January 12th Special Elections
Virginia –-(AmmoLand.com)- Pro-gun Jeff McWaters won the special election in District 8 by 79% to 21% over anti-gun Bill Fleming
VGOC spent no resources in that fight because we knew it was a slam dunk.
The bad news is that pro-gun Steve Hunt lost to anti-gun carpet bagger Dave Marsden by 50.64% to 49.26%.
Out of 23,602 votes cast Steve lost by 327 votes.
This is a radically liberal district in Fairfax and becoming more liberal all the time. Four years ago, Ken Cuccinelli only won by 92 votes.
The turn out of gun owners is what made it close. Thank you to all who invested in mobilizing gun owners.
We now have our work cut out in the Virginia legislative session. It just got harder.
The anti-gun lobby will be energized by this pick up of an extra anti-gun vote. We will face some stiff anti-gun efforts.
So please, if you have not made a membership donation for 2010, please do so today at www.vgoc.org
If you have recently donated, anything extra that you can throw into the fight it will gratefully received and carefully used. Many on this list have never donated.
Please do so today either at www.vgoc.org or by sending a check to VGOC, PO Box 1599, Front Royal, VA 22630.
It costs a lot of time and money to run a gun lobby and we desperately need your help.
