Edison, NJ –-(AmmoLand.com)- The 27th Annual Garden State Outdoor Sportsmen’s and Adventure Show, January 14th through the 17th, at the New Jersey Convention & Exposition Center will host several NEW dog kennels with different breeds of hunting companions to show and sell. If this is your year for a new “best friend” you need to bring the family to the largest, most popular show of its kind in the tri-state area.

B & B Pheasantry
For many die hard upland hunters, watching a good dog work is almost as enjoyable as bagging a ring neck. Not only is a good hunting dog able to locate more birds for you, but after the shot, a well trained retriever will allow you to collect many more birds then you would if hunting without a dog. When day is done he also looks great stretched out by the hearth! Brenda, Ben and Michael, owners of B & B Pheasantry, and breeders of Labrador Retrievers always have a new litter in the works or have puppies at the show for sale.

DeCoverly English Setters
In 1916, George Ryman began the now legendary Ryman Kennel (1916-1974). Over the span of these years, his single-minded pursuit of the perfect Gentleman’s shooting dog created the standard by which all others are measured.

The Patriarch of the Ryman Line was Sir Roger DeCoverly. His powerful genetic influence continues to the present in the Kennel that bears his name. Today’s DeCoverly Kennel breeds the largest existing gene pool of the Ryman Line and proudly continues this tradition. Nearly a century later, the enduring abundance of pure instinct and personality sets DeCoverly English setters apart.

Crossfire Kennels and Staton Gun Dogs
The dog training segments at this show always draw a large audience. This year will be no exception as Judi and Stephen Ware of Crossfire Kennels illustrate the training of German Shorthaired Pointers. Steve has competed in the show ring, hunt tests, field trials, training and successfully competing with many bird dog breeds. John Staton of Staton Gun Dogs, originally trained Labrador Retrievers and horses, but found his true niche in training after he adopted his rescue pointer, Flash, from Judi and Stephen Ware in 1990. As he developed Flash, he realized that he loved training upland bird dogs and Staton Gun Dogs was born! Over the years the two families have bonded and started training dogs together. Jointly they will present the dog training demonstrations all days of the event and will be available for talking to dog owners about teaching the skills necessary to train a solid hunting companion. Don’t miss these informative and interesting sessions.

The Eastern German Shorthaired Pointer Club Rescue
This amazing group of volunteers will man a booth with some of their remarkable pets and be happy to answer your questions and help you in finding a new “family member”. This Rescue Club was formally organized during the 1980’s at the request of the American Kennel Club. During their first year in existence they assisted over one hundred German Shorthaired Pointers in need!! Today, through many years of evolving, this group is one of the most active and most successful rescue groups on the East Coast and possibly the U.S.
