Pennsylvania –-(Ammoland.com)- The authors of the new book “Serious Grouse Hunting, Book 1” and the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) have announced details of a special promotion, in which a portion of the sale of each book will be donated to the RGS.

Serious Grouse Hunting, Book 1″ is the first major book on ruffed grouse hunting to be released in more than a decade, and reflects the current status of “serious” hunting information using a heavy emphasis on how-to-hunt tips and using newer technologies such as Google Earth to help find grouse covers.

Co-authors Jay Kumar and Brendan Haines, who are both RGS members, said the decision to donate a portion of the book’s proceeds to the RGS was an easy one.

“The RGS is the only organization working tirelessly to increase grouse and woodcock habitat, and success there helps many other forest species,” Kumar said. “Anyone who hunts grouse should know just how important RGS’s work is. This is the least we can do to support that work.”

“Jay and Brendan initially gave us space in the book to promote our mission and our upcoming 50th Anniversary. That was generous of them at the time and their generosity continues with this special promotion,” said RGS President and CEO Mike Zagata.

“I have read the book and it does contain a lot of truly new information about hunting this magnificent bird, including the use of the Internet for finding potential grouse covers. I sincerely hope RGS members and other grouse hunters will put this book on their holiday gift and winter reading lists, and thereby support the RGS,” Zagata continued.
