A gruesome video surfaced Tuesday which purportedly shows a 26-year-old Jordanian pilot being burned alive.
Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh was captured by ISIS in December after his plane crashed in Syria during a bombing mission. Negotiations were previously underway between the Islamic State and the Jordanian government to trade al-Kaseasbeh for Sajida al-Rishawi, who was being held in a prison in Jordan after her capture following a suicide bomb attack in 2005 that killed 60 people.
However, with the apparent murder of al-Kaseasbeh, al-Rishawi was executed by hanging, according to a report from The Guardian.
