Illinois –-(Ammoland.com)- They Failed in the Senate – Now Gov. Quinn & Chicago Mayor Emanuel Will Attempt to Push Firearm Ban Through the IL House of Reps.
Senate sponsors could not find the votes for HB815 and HB1263 before recessing for the weekend.
However, that has not stopped Gov. Quinn and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel from trying to pass a Chicago-style gun ban during the lame duck session.
The House will reconvene Sunday evening at 5 pm. and we expect a strong push to pass the gun ban and get it back to the Senate for a vote before the deadline on Wed., Jan. 9th 2013.
The bills will include banning most semi-auto handguns, rifles, and shotguns, plus restrictions on public shooting ranges that will close most, if not all, ranges in Illinois.
What Can You Do To Stop This Assault On Your Rights?
Keep the Phone Lines Hot!
Call your State Representative’s Springfield and district offices over the weekend and urge them to oppose these outrageous attempts to infringe on our Second Amendment rights. Be polite but firm.
We do not know which bill numbers they will use, but another alert will be sent as soon as we know and you will be asked to file a witness slip to voice your opposition in the committee hearing. Please sign up and monitor your email for alerts on Sunday.
