USA – -(Ammoland.com)- The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is pleased to announce the renewal of support from GLOCK for the SSSF’s Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP).
During the recent NRA Annual Meeting in Louisville, Ky., GLOCK Vice President Josh Dorsey presented a check for $25,000 to the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF), which was accepted by Tammy Mowry, national program director for the Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) and Tom Yost, SSSF board member.
“Thank you to GLOCK for its continued support of the Scholastic Action Shooting Program,” Mowry said. “GLOCK has been on board with the program since its inception and it is one of SASP’s Founding Partners. GLOCK understands the need to have our youth participate in the scholastic shooting sports and its sponsorship in our program really shows its commitment.”
Earlier this year GLOCK also donated one of only 30 decoratively engraved G17 Gen4 Pistols in tribute to GLOCK’s 30th Anniversary in the US and its ongoing commitment to the mission of SSSF.
This pistol will be raffled to raise money for the SASP with the winner announced in July at the SASP National Championships in Marengo, Ohio. More information on the raffle and the SSSF 30th Anniversary pistol is available at https://sssfonline.org/win-30th-anniversary-sssf-edition-glock-pistol/.
“Investing in our youth shooting programs is imperative,” said Ed Fitzgerald, special projects manager for GLOCK. “Building an atmosphere where young people learn not only how to improve on their sport shooting, but in particular to learn the safety and responsibility that goes along with it.”
About SSSF
The Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation (SSSF) is responsible for all aspects of the Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) and Scholastic Action Shooting Program (SASP) across the United States. SCTP and SASP are youth development programs in which adult coaches and other volunteers use shooting sports to teach and to demonstrate sportsmanship, responsibility, honesty, ethics, integrity, teamwork, and other positive life skills. SCTP was developed as a program of the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) until the SSSF was created in 2007 to operate the SCTP. In 2012, SSSF created the SASP and became the managing foundation of both programs.
