Residents in one Clackamas County neighborhood in Oregon are fed up with petty crimes and, with recent local shootings making national headlines, they have decided to take matters into their own hands with a bold neighborhood watch program that thoroughly embraces armed defense.
Coy Toloman, who is helping to push the new neighborhood watch, says, “We’re starting a new group. We don’t feel neighborhood watch is sufficient, and we don’t feel the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is sufficient.”
While the crime the neighborhood has seen lately has been generally of the minor and non-violent variety, residents worry about the crimes escalating into something more dangerous. Toloman, a breast cancer survivor, got her concealed carry permit after she watched a thief steal a sentimental statue, “Lilly Rose,” from her front porch in broad daylight. She even chased the man, but he escaped.
So Toloman, along with other residents, are posting flyers around their neighborhood warning thieves and other potential law-breakers that, “This is a Glock block. We don’t call 911.” Check out their message below:
