Tim with the Military Arms Channel runs FN’s fresh new model 509 9mm handgun through the gauntlet to see just how it holds up.
Designed originally as the company’s entry into the Army’s Modular Handgun System competition, the 17+1-capacity pistol was beefed up to meet rigorous military requirements that saw more than 1 million rounds fired in reliability, ammunition compatibility, and durability testing.
Based on their FNS Compact platform, a number of changes were made to the legacy design that includes improved internals, enhanced grip textures and cocking serrations, guarded controls and a recessed target crown on the four-inch barrel.
So how well does it work under the MAC conditions, testing it in water, sand, dirt, and mud? Check out the above video.
