Rolla, MO –-(Ammoland.com)- I really like my Muck boots. I don’t like to say I love an inanimate object, but my feelings about these boots are pretty close to being in love with an inanimate object.

Let’s just say, if I went hunting or fishing and I forgot to take my Muck boots with me, well, I’d drive to the nearest Muck boot place and buy another pair. They require no break-in time.

Fortunately, where I hunt and fish, there are lots of feed-and-seed stores that carry Muck boots, although I prefer to buy them from Hanks Clothing, where they offer free shipping and returns. When our local shooting range is muddy, I’ll pop these boots on to wade out to set new targets. It’s always good idea to carry a pair in your trunk if you live in a part of the country where muck can crop up quickly.

Today is a perfect Muck boot day because it’s raining cats and dogs and in fact, I’ve already sloshed down to the mailbox in the boots. When I’m not hunting or fishing in them, I can be found traipsing out to the compost heap or putting up the dogs at night in their kennel in my Muck boots.

I own three pairs, so far.

I started the collection with a pair of guys’ boots about four years ago, because at that time, I could not find women’s Muck boots and did not know about Hanks Clothing; hey, they work fine, though. They are called Wetland Premium Field boots — great for yard work or hunting and priced at $121.95. Notice the blaze orange lining, which shows when you roll down the boots. Something that might come in handy for moving back and forth between heavily wooded and hunter infested lands … kinda like those reflector thingeys on running shoes.

For most of my hunting in the Midwest,  I wear Muck Womens Woody Max boots. Hanks Clothing features a line of Muck boots for women and free shipping. And, for the quick slip-on out in the garage because I need to take out the trash … the Muck Boot SUV hiker . I just purchased these shoes recently, and am looking forward to trying them out while afield checking game cameras and searching for scrapes and rubs this whitetail season.

Although I waded through a swampy field to set a treestand, I decided to take the easy way back to the shed. My Muck boots kept my feet and legs dry and warm that day.

Why the Muck?

From Hank’s website, which explains the theory behind the boot so well:

This Woody Max For Women is the only Muck Boot that was made just for a woman’s foot. Our Women’s Woody Max Cold Conditions Hunting Boot has a woman’s true-fit for ultimate fit and comfort.

With a comfort range from 60° to -40°F, whether you are sitting in the tree stand or tracking in the woods, you will love these and probably get a bigger buck than your hubby!

Hmmm, an almost-guarantee from Hanks Clothing that if I wear these I’ll get a bigger buck than my husband? All the more reason to buy these boots! ~Barbara Baird
