Former WWE Wrestler bodyslams gunman at Florida gas station (VIDEO)

A former WWE wrestler took a gun from a would-be robber Saturday night at a Florida gas station and subdued him until police arrived.

Shad Gaspard, 35, stopped to get a drink Saturday in Coral Springs, Florida after a show, according to Sports Illustrated. Police say 35-year-old Jason Felix was upset when Gaspard wouldn’t buy him a beer. That’s when Felix showed him the gun. What happened next was recorded by security cameras.

“He lifts up his shirt and he reaches and grabs a gun,” Gaspard told WPLG. “So he puts the gun into his waist belt and he goes, ‘You need to get out of here, man, because I’m about to rob this place.'”

The gas station clerk told police Gaspard grabbed the gun and shoved Felix outside, slamming him to the ground and holding him down until police got there.

“That’s when I looked over at the gun, and I was squeezing it so tight cuz I didn’t want to let go of it…I realized I broke the handle of the gun,” he said, adding that’s when he realized it was an airsoft gun.

Gaspard said he wasn’t using wrestling moves on Felix, but techniques he learned while working as a bodyguard. He said he didn’t think Felix was a bad guy. “He seemed like somebody (who) needs help,” said Gaspard.

Gaspard made his WWE debut in 2006 and was part of the “Cryme Tyme” duo. More recently, he’s working as an actor while wrestling on the indie circuit.

“I was supposed to have an audition for a super hero movie this week,” he said, laughing.
