Springfield, MO -(AmmoLand.com)- Barbara Baird, publisher of Women’s Outdoor News, aka Babbs, will be attending the 3rd Annual Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt, held at Ranch at Ucross, near Clearmont, Wy., from Oct. 8 to 12.
While there, she will be posting news and photos about the event to The WON’s many social media outlets, so that readers can feel involved and learn more about this important venue that brings women from around the nation together to hunt — some for the first time.
This year is also the third time The WON has been onsite and participated in the hunt. Julie Golob kicked off the first year of the event, tagged an antelope, won an award and taught a cooking class. Last year, Stacey Huston attended the event and reported all about it, in Part 1 and Part 2.

About the Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt:
The Wyoming Women’s Antelope Hunt was founded in 2013 by the Wyoming Women’s Foundation as a platform for mentoring and developing camaraderie between women. Hunting is a long-standing Wyoming tradition and a skill that honors our state’s cultural roots. Teaching women to hunt can help them feed their families nutritious food and fulfills WYWF’s mission of investing in economic self-sufficiency of women. The event develops new hunters by offering scholarships and hunter education to women who otherwise may not get the opportunity to hunt and pairs them with conservation-minded guides and experienced women hunting partners for maximum learning opportunities.
