A Fort Myers mom is upset with what she found during a recent trip to a Toys ‘R’ Us.
Susan Schrivjer contacted local media when she discovered what she felt were inappropriate items being sold in the toy store – action figures from AMC’s hit show “Breaking Bad.”
“It’s about drugs, you’re selling it in a children’s toy store?” Schrivjer said. “Knowing those are the items one needs to make meth I just think that it’s wrong,” she added of the action figures, which come complete with lab coats, beakers and a gas mask. Oh, and don’t forget the little blue bags of pretend meth.
The Florida mom has since started a petition to remove the product from the toy store shelves.
Toys ‘R’ Us originally responded, “The products you reference are carried in very limited quantities and the product packaging clearly notes that the items are intended for ages 15 and up. Items from this TV series are located in the adult action figure area of our stores.” However, it now appears that the product is no longer available — at least not at Toys R’ Us.
The entire ordeal has Walter White – a.k.a Bryan Cranston – a little upset too.
