FL man arrested for vandalizing mosque, placing raw bacon on door

Michael Scott Wolfe

A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with a felony after he vandalized a Titusville, Florida, mosque Friday.

Michael Scott Wolfe, of Cocoa Beach, is accused of using a machete to break the windows, lights and security cameras at the Masjid Al-Munin mosque around 11 p.m. Wolfe also placed raw bacon on the door handles of the facility, an item which Muslims are prohibited from not only eating, but touching as well.

Authorities identified Wolfe by video captured from surveillance cameras that weren’t damaged. Since Wolfe did not actually enter the building, he was charged with criminal mischief involving a religious building, which is still felony offense. He is currently be held on a $2,000 bond and was due to appear in court Tuesday.
