All seven graduates of the class are associated with an SCTP Team
Indiana -(AmmoLand.com)- The Indiana Youth Shooting Sports Foundation in conjunction with the NSCA, has completed the Indiana’s, first ever NSCA Level 1 instructors’ class.
Russ Arnold, of Shooting Sports Consulting, was the course instructor. The course was held at the Izaac Walton League in Kokomo Indiana May 6 through May 8.
With the dramatic increase in youth shooting activities in Indiana, SCTP State Advisor Nick Mason and Jim Dunn, President of the Indiana Youth Shooting Sports Foundation, saw the need to increase the expertise of coaching in Indiana. They felt so strongly about this that they both were students in the course.
There will be two more classes this summer. The classes are all closed and by invitation only. All attendees must be an SCTP coach, assistant coach, or a parent of an SCTP team member, or other interested party to attend the class. The classes are all youth athlete related.
The next class is June 14th to the 16th . With the 15th and 16th being an SCTP mini camp which includes 3 instructor coaching, sessions for athletes of 2.5 hours each targets are included. The cost of Mini camp is to be announced at a later date.
18 student youth shooters are needed to take instruction from the Instructor Candidates. Contact Nick Mason (nickcm239@aol.com) if you would like to attend as a youth mini camp participant.
