While some wholeheartedly agreed with the St. Louis County grand jury’s decision not to indict Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson and others believe that justice absolutely was not served, one this was certain following the announcement – everyone had an opinion. In fact, it took Twitter users around five hours to rack up over 3.5 million tweets under the hashtag #Ferguson. The tweets per minute between the hours of 6 and 11 p.m. ranged from a little under 10,000 to over 50,000 at an 8:30 p.m. peak, right around the time the decision was announced.
