Federal Ammunition sponsored shooters Vincent Hancock and Caitlin Connor blazed through the 2020 Olympic Shotgun Trials held Sept. 18 through Sept. 21 in Kerrville, Texas, earning solid placements.
Two-time Olympic gold medalist Hancock took to the trials, defeating Phillip Jungman by a slim, one-point margin to claim the victory. Hancock completed the men’s skeet finals with a score of 59/60 with his Beretta DT-11. This finale allowed him to gain a few targets over the field at the next match. “Once in the final, I started to shoot like myself again and felt great throughout the round,” Hancock explained.
For the ladies, 2018 World Champion Connor placed third in the finals, tying for fifth place overall in the women’s skeet standing with her Krieghoff shotgun. Conner completed the four-day match with 236 points in total. Both Connor and Hancock are sponsored by Federal Ammunition and the company serves as the official shotshell supplier of USA Shooting.
The final portion of the Olympic Trials will be held in late February 2020 in Tucson, Arizona as part of the Shotgun Spring Selection.
