Authorities are hoping to identify four individuals responsible for what is being called a “takeover-style bank robbery” that occurred in Dallas last month, and a cash reward is being offered as an incentive for information on the individuals.
According to a press release from the Dallas Federal Bureau of Investigation Violent Crimes Task Force, the four suspects entered the Neighborhood Credit Union on May 20, 2016, around 3:45 p.m. and ordered everyone in the facility to get down on the ground. The suspects then began collecting valuables from both the bank’s customers and employees.
During the course of the robbery, one of the suspects became enraged at a bank teller and struck that individual in the back of the head with a pistol. The teller suffered a laceration, but was otherwise okay. After gathering personal property, the four suspects ran out of the building, but were not able to collect any cash from the bank.
Surveillance video captured grainy images of the suspects before they made their escape. Several carried backpacks or some other sort of bag, and all of the suspects had their faces covered. One was wearing a rubber mask that looked like an elderly white man with gray hair. Another suspect appeared to be wearing a skeleton ski mask under a tan hoodie. The third suspect wore a maroon ski mask with a hoodie, and the fourth suspect had his face covered with a bandanna. All were wearing long pants, long sleeves and gloves.
All four suspects are described as black males between the ages of 18 and 20 years old. They stood about 5’8” to 5’10” tall and weighed approximately 140 to 160 pounds.
At least three of the suspects were armed with handguns, and the FBI warned that they should be considered armed and dangerous.
The North Texas Crime Stoppers has offered a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dallas FBI at 972-559-5000 or the North Texas Crime Stoppers at 1-877-373-TIPS (8477).
