U.S. Airman 1st Class Spencer Stone is interviewed in Paris following a foiled terrorist attack on a French train.
Stone, on vacation with his buddies, Aleksander Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler, recounts his day that started off doing “touristy stuff” and suddenly got really real when an armed gunman popped up with an AK, handgun and six inch box cutter.
Which led to him having to toss out a rear naked choke on a Moroccan terror suspect who kept pulling out weapons like a magician at an ISIS office party– then rushing to help a wounded traveler.
Stone is an ambulance service technician with the 65th Medical Operations Squadron stationed at Lajes Field, Azores and this week received the Legion of Honor from French President François Hollande along with his friends for their actions.
Stone has also been nominated for the Air Force’s highest non-combat award, the Airman’s Medal.
