Temecula, Calif. –-(Ammoland.com)- Outdoor Channel, America’s Leader In Outdoor TV, and NBFog, the brand-building specialists for the outdoor lifestyle industry, invite you to submit your best photos from your favorite whitetail deer hunting adventures and enter the “Outdoor Channel National Deer Contest powered by BuckScore.”

Participants, ages 14 and up, can enter by visiting the contest website and uploading any deer or deer hunting related photo captured between August 1, 2012 and January 31, 2013. Acceptable buck images will then be scored using NBFog’s BuckScore product, the premier deer hunting and management software that estimates the antler size of whitetail deer from a photograph.

The shots can be submitted into one of five categories:

  • Archery, which has four sub categories: Adult Typical, Youth Typical, Adult Non-Typical and Youth Non-Typical. Prizes will be awarded to the Top 10 in each sub-category!
  • Firearms will also be split into four sub categories: Adult Typical, Youth Typical, Adult Non-Typical and Youth Non-Typical. Prizes will also be awarded to the Top 10 in each sub-category at the end of the contest!
  • Trail Cam will allow enthusiasts to submit trail camera photos of bucks.
  • On the Hoof offers participants the chance to win $1,000 when they upload their most memorable picture.
  • Finally, the Fan Favorite winners will be chosen weekly by – you guessed it – you, the fans!

There is no cost to enter and no limit on the number of photos that can be uploaded. Contestants will only be required to submit the date, approximate time the image was captured, county and state where the photo was taken. Keep checking back as the site will continuously be updated with a live leader board displaying images of the bucks with the highest score and those highlighted by fans as the best photos.

Need some inspiration? Log on to OutdoorChannel.com to check out how top Outdoor Channel hunting shows, such as “Driven with Pat & Nicole,” “Legends of the Fall” and “In Pursuit with Greg & Jake,” are applying the BuckScore scoring system directly to their deer hunts.

Winners from each category will be announced at the end of the competition, with the exception of the Fan Favorite, which will be announced on a weekly basis and awarded a brand new Bushnell Trophy cam. And with more than $100,000 in prizes being given away throughout the contest including Grand Prize packages, each valued in excess of $7,500 and containing some of the top gear in the hunting industry, including one-year memberships to BuckScore, this contest is sure to be on the “must” list for any avid hunter.

But the real “prize” is that all pictures entered into the contest will be assisting one of the biggest whitetail conservation and restocking efforts to date. Contest images will be used to reinforce a database of whitetail buck information, to which universities and state wildlife agencies will have unlimited, free access. Having access to this information will assist them in further refining their whitetail research, thus enhancing game management projects all across the U.S.
