Biggest Show of the Season!
The True Test of Survival Comes to a Close with a One Hour Finale AND “After the Drop” Special Hosted by Realtree’s David Blanton.
New Berlin, Wis. –-(Ammoland.com)- Brothers Chris and Casey Keefer’s amazing 28-day Alaska survival expedition comes to a close with a special two-hour finale of Dropped: Project Alaska on Tuesday, March 27 beginning at 9 pm ET exclusively on Sportsman Channel.
A Sportsman Channel original production, Dropped: Project Alaska presented by Realtree, has been engaging viewers with the Keefers’ experience of being “dropped” in a remote part of Alaska where they had to pit their skills as hunters, woodsmen and anglers against an unforgiving landscape. This special two hour finale of a series’ season has never before been done in outdoor television.
The two-hour finale show includes the one hour conclusion of the Keefer’s travels, plus an “After the Drop” show hosted by Realtree’s David Blanton. Blanton is the Keefer’s biggest fan, helping them to execute the trip and following them every step of the way.
“I’m very proud of what Chris and Casey have accomplished with this ground-breaking show concept for our industry,” said David Blanton with Realtree. “All of us at Realtree have been engaged with them since the start and I look forward to exploring with them the behind-the-scenes details.”
“First, Sportsman Channel broke new ground with Dropped as a documentary-style reality series for outdoor TV, and now we are doing it again with this two hour finale. We are honored to have David Blanton from Realtree as the host and use the ability to combine all these great partners we have to create something truly remarkable,” said Gavin Harvey, chief executive officer, Sportsman Channel.
The “After the Drop” episode, beginning at 10 pm ET, was shot at Rusted Rooster Studios with the Keefer’s answering viewers’ burning questions from the season.
“We realized many folks didn’t believe we were there for 28 days without provisions – and even telling them we each lost over 20 pounds wasn’t enough. So the ‘After Dropped’ finale is to set the record straight,” said Chris Keefer.
The Keefers began their float with only 100 pounds of gear on each of them. They had no provisions in their backpacks – all their gear was for catching or killing their food and then preparing it.
As they wound their way over 110 river miles of the most perilous and game-rich country in the world, the brothers attempted to spot and stalk Caribou, Moose, Black Bear and Wolf.
“We had an incredible experience and it was exactly what I was hoping the trip would be. Chris and I are jealous of the folks who get to call Alaska ‘home’ every day. Its beautiful country and I’m glad the show could capture the rawness of what we went through,” said Casey Keefer.
