Dog named Thor attacks would-be robber (VIDEO)

An attempted robbery at a Saco, Maine, gas station last week was thwarted when the clerk’s dog jumped up and attacked the suspect, causing him to run off.

Justin Ireland said he was working the afternoon shift when the suspect came to the door and asked to use the phone. Ireland told authorities he never lets anyone inside the building and told the man no, but the man, who was armed with a gun, forced his way inside.

Ireland said as soon as the man touched him in a threatening manner, it set his dog, Thor, off. The dog first nipped the suspect’s hand, but by the video survillence, it appears that he then bit him on both sides of his face.

Ireland said Thor has never done anything like that in the past, and he believes it was just pure instinct.

Authorities believe the man might have been carrying a BB gun. He is described as a white male, 5′-8″, 180 pounds, last seen driving off in a light blue, newer model, Chevy Silverado truck.
