Rifle and accessories maker Daniel Defense will sink $18.5 million in a project to consolidate and expand operations at its Black Creek, Georgia facility.
According to a statement issued Wednesday, continued consumer interest and an increase in demand pushed the company to consolidate its Ridgeline, South Carolina and Black Creek facilities into one single operation.
“This consolidation will streamline our operational efficiencies on many different levels and will allow us to continue to grow our team,” said Daniel Defense president and CEO Marty Daniel in a statement.
The project features a new $18.5 million facility and equipment in Georgia. In addition, the expansion will create 75 employment opportunities. Jobs up for grabs include those in machining, engineering, assembly and marketing.
“It is very important that we attract, hire, and retain exceptional talent, and this new facility will allow us to do just that, and continue to accelerate our market share in the firearms business,” Daniel commented.
Georgia Governor Nathan Deal issued a statement regarding the development, saying the move will boost the local economy.
“In this expansion, Daniel Defense is creating jobs for Georgia citizens and investing in resources that will enable the company to continue to grow,” Deal said.
Daniel Defense estimates the expansion will be completed in late summer of 2017.
