Dan Jones Is New Skeet US Open Champion
NSSA Skeet Event Attracts Top Shooters at Ben Avery Clay Target Center
Phoenix, AZ -(Ammoland.com)- Dan Jones of McKinleyville, CA, became the 2010 US Open Champion for the National Skeet Shooting Association at its annual event April 16-18.
Hosted this year by the Ben Avery Clay Target Center in Phoenix, Arizona, the annual US Open is one of the premier skeet events in the country, attracting shooters of all classes from across the country.
Runner-up to Jones was Tom Keegan of Salmon, Idaho, and finishing third overall was Paul Newman of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
The event was marked by near-perfect shotgunning conditions in Phoenix, with warm, sunny weather and little wind.
The Ben Avery Clay Target Center is part of the 1650-acre Ben Avery Shooting Facility, operated by the Arizona Game & Fish Department.
