DALLAS, Tx (Ammoland.Com) – Dallas Ecological Foundation (DEF) is proud to announce a new partnership with the Cabela’s Outdoor Fund where Cabela’s is contributing a large sustaining grant in support of the DEF’s “Outdoor Adventures” to create an outstanding outdoor education initiative.
Outdoor Adventures is a copyrighted physical education curriculum taught in both public and private secondary schools that offers students the opportunity to learn Hunter Education, Wildlife Conservation, archery, angler education, boater education, survival skills, camping, orienteering, outdoor cooking and CPR/first aid.
Abe Nayfa, DEF Chairman, stated “DEF is very excited to be working with Cabela’s Outdoor Fund. Outdoor Adventures is a great tool to reach students and their families who haven’t been introduced to hunting, fishing and shooting. The financial support from Cabela’s Outdoor Fund will impact more than 500 schools over the next three years. By 2018, 50,000 students annually will be enrolled in Outdoor Adventures nationwide thanks to this tremendous agreement.”
Through Cabela’s Outdoor Fund, which began in 2010 and is largely funded by retail customers who round up their purchases in Cabela’s stores to the nearest dollar, Cabela’s has been able to support conservation and advocacy organizations that leave a long-lasting impact on the outdoor community by providing and enhancing opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
Cabela’s Outdoor Fund and DEF support educating the next generation of hunters, anglers, shooting-sport participants, wildlife conservationists and future voters. The Outdoor Adventures program reaches the general public and provides a full-year curriculum in schools, available to any school across the United States.
