A 21-year-old man is facing a few charges after he robbed a sporting goods store in Augustine, Florida, Tuesday morning then used a gun from that robbery to steal a $65,000 truck from the Ford dealership next door.
Trenard De’Quane Williams was arrested and charged with carjacking with a firearm, petit theft, aggravated assault, grand theft and resisting arrest without violence.
Police say Williams entered a Gander Mountain and stole a Beretta handgun and a box of ammo, then went to Bozard Ford Lincoln next door, where he pointed the gun at a salesman and demanded the keys to a 2016 Ford F350.
Williams took off in the stolen truck, but only got about 50 feet before he was surrounded by St. Johns County sheriff’s deputies. He was taken into custody without further incident and was being held without bond.
No one was injured during the brief crime spree.
