Kalispell, Montana –-(Ammoland.com)- Counter Assault, Bear Deterrent Manufacturer in Kalispell Montana, has added 29+ year veteran National Park Service Park Ranger (Retired) Gary Moses as a Product Ambassador for Counter Assault Bear and Pepper Spray Products.
Gary recently retired after serving as the District Ranger in Glacier National Park for the past 23 years. In 1989, he transferred from Yellowstone National Park where he had served as a ranger since the early 1980’s.
Working in two of the “Crown Jewels’ of the NPS, his duties involved managing and performing emergency operations including law enforcement, emergency medical service, search and rescue, wild land and structural firefighting as well as wildlife and resource management, visitor education, public outreach, and supervision of numerous employees and volunteers.
While stationed at two national parks with the most densely populated grizzly bear habitats in the lower 48 states, he was a leader in bear management planning and operations and experienced many diverse and, oftentimes, complicated bear encounters. At previous speaking engagements he has been introduced as “the person who has likely treated more bear attack victims and investigated more bear attack incidents than anyone in the continental U.S.” He also served for nearly 10 years on one of the five NPS Special Events Teams assigned temporarily to units throughout the National Park System, including at Presidential visits, large scale ceremonies, emergency incidents, and natural disasters. He was also chosen to work at the Salt Lake City Olympics (2002) where he provided security on the mountains skiing alongside the Olympic athletes.
Throughout his career Gary has been credited with saving several lives and received numerous awards including in 2008 when he received the highest honor, presented annually, to only one ranger in the nation. This honor – the Harry Yount Award -recognizes excellence in the art and science of the park Ranger profession on behalf of the public and other members of the Ranger profession.
Gary knows the benefits of Counter Assault Bear Deterrent in bear encounters because he carried and used it in his daily responsibilities and now he will share that knowledge with the public at Sports Shows and retail stores, at special events, around the country.
