OXFORD, N.C. – –-(Ammoland.com)- With national pride on the line, Miguel Gamboa of Costa Rica came through to win the coveted High International title this past weekend at the 2012 IDPA Carolina Cup in Oxford, N.C.
Competing in the Enhanced Service Pistol division, Gamboa placed sixth in the Master class and finished an impressive seventh overall in the division with his final score of 236.80.
Gamboa claimed the High International title in competition against several talented shooters from Austria, Finland, Italy, Venezuela and his homeland of Costa Rica.
“IDPA is growing rapidly on the international level and are seeing more and more foreign shooters, like Miguel, traveling to the U.S. to compete. The High International title grows in importance each year as nations battle for bragging rights. It’s an honor to congratulate, on behalf of the entire IDPA membership, Miguel Gamboa and Team Costa Rica on their Carolina Cup victory,” said Joyce Wilson, executive director of IDPA.
