Washington DC – -(Ammoland.com)- In the aftermath of new restrictions put in place on Connecticut gun manufacturers when Gov. Dannel P. Malloy (D) signed a 139-page gun control package on April 4, PTR Industries says it is moving to South Carolina as previously reported here.
The gun maker will join Gov. Nikki Haley (R) for a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Horry County, SC next week.
According to Fox News, the gun maker will employ 140 people, “many of whom will relocate from Connecticut.”
PTR’s chief executive officer, Josh Fiorini, says the move will take place over the course of three years.
Forty-one states reached out to PTR after Connecticut’s new restrictions were signed into law. The company whittled that list down to six finalists, out of which South Carolina was chosen.
