Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation Appoints Three New Members to Board of Directors

Washington, DC -(AmmoLand.com)- The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) announced the appointment of three new members to serve on its Board of Directors: Brad Johnson, Chairman & CEO of United Sporting Companies; Larry Keane, Senior Vice President, Assistant Secretary and General Counsel to the National Shooting Sports Foundation; and Joshua Waldron, CEO of SilencerCo.

They were elected to three-year terms expiring in 2018.

Brad Johnson joined United Sporting Companies (USC) in 2011 and now serves as the Chairman & Chief Executive Officer. Concurrent with his position at USC, Johnson serves as the Executive Chairman and CEO of Crosman Corporation. Prior to joining USC, Johnson was the President of Reynolds Consumer Products and President and CEO of Elmer’s Products.

Lawrence G. Keane, Esq. is senior vice president, assistant secretary and general counsel to the National Shooting Sports Foundation, Inc. (NSSF), the firearm industry’s trade association. He is responsible for all of NSSF’s legal, government relations and risk management functions. He assisted in drafting the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (Public Law No. 109-92) and the so-called “Tiahrt Amendment”. He serves as the firearms industry’s chief spokesperson for all legal, legislative and regulatory matters.

Joshua Waldron is CEO of SilencerCo, a Utah company that designs and manufactures industry leading firearm suppressors and accessories. Waldron co-founded SilencerCo and has been CEO since its inception in 2008. Starting with a garage and a business plan, Waldron raised a small amount of money, acquired a CNC machine, and with the help of his high school friend and business partner Jonathon Shults, SilencerCo launched its first product in 2009. The company now employees over 230 people and occupies a 72,000 square foot facility where all manufacturing is performed in house, American sourced, and American made.

CSF’s Board of Directors is comprised of 22 members and seven honorary members who are dedicated in their pursuits for the sportsmen’s community. CSF President Jeff Crane praised the Board for their commitment to the organization’s mission.

“CSF’s Board is comprised of some of the greatest leaders within the sportsmen’s community who devote their time and resources to ensuring that hunting, angling, recreational shooting, and trapping are advanced through pro-sportsmen’s policy efforts,” said Crane.

This year’s Board is led by CEO of Vista Outdoor Inc. Mark DeYoung as Chairman, President of Tech Exec, Inc. Paul Miller as Vice-Chairman, Vice President of Hornady Manufacturing Jason Hornady as Secretary, and CEO of Pure Fishing John Doerr as Treasurer.

“As a lifelong outdoorsman, I am honored to serve as Chairman of this well-respected and critically important organization,” said DeYoung. “Their accomplishments working with Congress, governors and state legislators demonstrate the profound impact this organization has within the sportsmen’s community and I look forward to contributing to its efforts to protect our nation’s outdoor heritage.”

Retiring from the board are Brad Franklin of Yamaha Motor Corporation and Steve Sanetti of the National Shooting Sports Foundation, whose respective contributions to the CSF Board of Directors are greatly appreciated.
