Utah –-(Ammoland.com)- The Utah Shooting Sports Council has invited OPSGEAR.com, a Utah Company to co-sponsor a new and important program.
“Safe to Learn Safe to Teach” a free Utah concealed carry permit class to persons working in the education system.
The class will be held Thursday December 27, 2012 at 12:00PM at the Maverick Center (formerly the E Center) in the Centennial Room. The Maverick Center is located at 3200 Decker Lake Drive, West Valley City, just off I-215.
This class is open to anyone actively employed with a private or public school, college, university, or vocational school. It is open to teachers, as well as anyone who works on school grounds and has a valid school employee ID.
Utah law allows for the carrying of concealed weapons on school grounds by teachers, workers in the education system, and the general public as long as those people have concealed carry permits.
Having armed civilians on school grounds can help thwart attacks as it did during the Pearl Mississippi High School attacks (1997), the middle-school dance in Edinboro, Pennsylvania (1998), and the New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado (2007) among others.
To date no lives have been saved by phony “gun-free school zones”. On the contrary they seem to act as magnets for those bent on mass murder.
USSC’s Chairman, firearms lobbyist, advocate and instructor, Clark Aposhian, will be teaching the CCW portion of the class.
“The only reason to maintain the right for the law abiding to carry a firearm inside a school is if we are committed to and serious about protecting our children. ” said Aposhian.
If you know anyone working in the education system please pass this information along to him or her. For more information and to schedule, contact Clark at FairwarningTraining@msn.com
