Commentary by John Snyder
Washington, DC – “Republican leaders should get real and unite now behind front-runner Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy to maximize their chances for national electoral victory next year,” gun dean John M. Snyder said here today.
“Make no mistake about it,” Snyder added. “The 2016 presidential contest will be no cakewalk for Republicans.
“Even though the Democrat administration is making a colossal mess of things, the mainstream media can be expected to march in lockstep support for the Democrat presidential nominee. It always does. The GOP will have to overcome this to win.”
Snyder noted, “There are a number of good Republican candidates, but none of them come close to Trump in most national or individual state polls. For the sake of achieving the long range November 2016 goal of national victory, they should drop out of the race now. They should jump on board the Trump campaign, and work together to defeat the Democrats and save our country from the extreme leftist Democrat-big media axis.
“In other words, the Republican Party ought to let Donald Trump lead it to victory over the Democrats. This would be a smart move. The GOP rank and file is deserting party leaders in droves, the polls show. New York billionaire Trump is attracting average citizens all over the country to become the presidential front runner in a genuine political phenomenon.”
Snyder said, “The GOP should see the hand writing on the wall, bury internal political hatchets, unite behind Trump and commit time, money and energy to winning the presidential election and solid majorities in senatorial and congressional elections next year.
“While people may have solid reasons for disliking the Trump candidacy, the good of our country demands that Democrats be kicked out of the presidency and out of as many House and Senate seats as possible.”
Snyder added that, “The Democrats are bad news on just about everything, economic policy, tax policy, social policy, justice policy, foreign affairs policy, national defense policy, gun rights – you name it.
The most important political issue today is getting Democrats out of as many political positions of political power and influence as possible, especially the presidency.
Competence vs Incompetence
“Some good, tradition-oriented people think of politics in terms of a liberal/conservative focus. A new focus is replacing that one. The focus now is competence/incompetence. Can the guy do the job? Trump’s way out in front on that one with the public. That’s why he stays so far up in polls in spite of attempts to knock him down.”
“Let’s face it,” said Snyder. “Republicans should drop whatever pettiness they may have, stop fighting among themselves, and concentrate on the big picture – dumping the Democrats, saving the United States, and Making America Great Again.”
