Raleigh, NC -(Ammoland.com)- Join the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission on Sept. 27, 2014 as we celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day in North Carolina.

The Commission is hosting or supporting free, family-oriented events that highlight our state’s extraordinary hunting and fishing heritage and remarkable wildlife conservation efforts through the years. Interactive activities and demonstrations vary for each event, but all provide unique opportunities for participants of all ages to connect with nature and test their outdoors skills.

The Greenwing National Hunting and Fishing Day event at Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge requires a $25 registration fee per participant. The Greenwing Fishing event at McKinney Lake Fish Hatchery requires a $20 registration fee per participant.

About the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission (NCWRC)

Since 1947, the N.C. Wildlife Resources Commission has been dedicated to the conservation and sustainability of the state’s fish and wildlife resources through research, scientific management, wise use, and public input. The Commission is the state regulatory agency responsible for the enforcement of fishing, hunting, trapping and boating laws and provides programs and opportunities for wildlife-related educational, recreational and sporting activities.

National Hunting and Fishing Day, celebrated the fourth Saturday of every September, remains the most effective grassroots efforts ever undertaken to promote the outdoor sports and conservation.
